Installation – The Last Breath

}

The Last Breath is a concept I've been working on for several years. It's about death, our last gasp of air. It has been a difficult process. I have had to accept my own mortality in order to finish the prototype, As the pandemic ravaged the world it reminded me that we have a stories of loss.

I chose portraits of family, friends, strangers as well as representation of the four life elements (water, air, fire, earth) to express our journey. In the middle of the installation I placed a sculpture representing our last exhale. Three death poems written by Haiku poets will be projected on the mirrored floor. They link the physical and spiritual ideas of our transformation.

A life size installation is being made.
