bIOGRAPHIE

Amandine Nabarra-Piomelli photographie des “histoires de vies” réelles, Voyages en train, Tempus Fugit, ou des concepts scientifiques imaginaires, Imaginary Biology-Fauna, Solastalgia. Elle s’intéresse aux problèmes d’identité de ses amies voire d’inconnues, Secret Love, The Caretaker. Ses voyages visuels mélangent poésie et sensibilités documentaires. Chaque image est une histoire qui croise d’autres destinées dans une série. Les personnes, les lieux et les objets se connectent de façon inattendue pour former un récit à lire par fragment ou dans son intégralité. Les images sont imprimées spécifiquement sur des supports qui font écho au concept de ses projets. A Los Angeles, avec l’aide de Mac Holbert (Nash Editions), et après de nombreuses expérimentations, elle réalise des impressions sur des papiers japonais fait-main, ainsi que sur des surfaces enduites de gesso. En parallèle, Amandine a développé des présentations de ses narrations en trois dimensions, à travers les livres d’artiste et des installations. A la photographie statique elle insuffle un mouvement physique, créant ainsi une tension qui entraine une approche interactive. Amandine a reçu le Gallery Director’s Exhibition Award in Colorado (2013) ainsi que le premier prix de Masquelibros à Madrid en Espagne (2012) et le second prix de Familiar Relics à Nashville, USA (2012). Elle a participé à de nombreuses expositions de photographie et de livres d’artistes aux USA, en Europe et en Australie. Ses oeuvres sont présentes dans plus de 40 collections privées et publiques telles que Le Centre Pompidou – France, The Getty Museum – Los Angeles, The Art Institute of Chicago – USA, Bibliotheca Librorum Apud Aritificem Sydney – Australie, entre autres. Aujourd’hui, elle vit et poursuit ses activités entre la Californie et l’Italie.
